Nazleen Reed

Co-Founder and Managing Director, Qualified Physiotherapist

Member of the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC), the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) 

Nazleen Reed co-founded Ultimate Performance Lifestyle in 2012. She has a BSc (Honours) degree in Physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University and is currently the official Physiotherapist for the Peterborough Phantom’s Ice Hockey team.

Nazleen specialises in providing Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy to runners, dancers, gymnasts and footballers experiencing back injuries, and offers posture re-education.

Nazleen is also qualified in Foundation Acupuncture, a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) and has completed additional courses in electro-acupuncture and Auricular (ear) Acupuncture.

Keen to encourage long-term health, mobility and flexibility, Nazleen is qualified to teach level 1 to 3 in APPI (Australian pilates for physiotherapists institute) Modified Pilates and leads many of Ultimate Performance Lifestyle’s popular classes. A strong believer in continuous learning, Nazleen has also completed courses in Antenatal Modified Pilates and Post Natal Pilates, including courses focused on Diastasis Recti (abdominal separation), a common condition in women post-pregnancy. To support these clients, Nazleen teaches a weekly Post-Natal Modified Pilates class guiding new mums through a series of exercises specifically adapted to target and strengthen the rectus abdominis muscles from deep down.

Prior to becoming a Physiotherapist, Nazleen worked as a qualified Veterinary Nurse and also spent time volunteering for a charity, the Christian Care Foundation, supporting abandoned children with disabilities in Thailand.

In her spare time, Nazleen plays Netball for the Ultimate Performance Lifestyle team, enjoys walking her dog Poppy, swimming, baking cakes and spending time with her family. Nazleen is a keen runner, she has completed both the Great Eastern Run and Tough Mudder twice, and participates in Peterborough’s Parkrun.

Komal Bhuchhada

Qualified Physiotherapist

Member of the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC), the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) 

Komal Bhuchhada is a qualified Physiotherapist with a BSc (Honours) degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Nottingham.

Komel specialises in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy helping patients experiencing chronic lower back pain and sacroiliac joint pain.

Komal has completed a number of Musculoskeletal qualifications including Pilates Matwork Level 3, Acupuncture, Grade 5 Manipulation, Congnative behavioural therapy training and the Peter O’Sullivan Cognitive functional therapy for targeted management of disabling low back pain.

Having worked in both the NHS and private sector, Komel has gained experience in many areas of Physiotherapy including Neurology, Respiratory, Women Health, Orthopaedics, Care of the Elderly and Amputee Rehabilitation.

Prior to commencing her Physiotherapy degree, Komal was a qualified lifeguard and swimming teacher.

In her spare time, Komal is currently pursuing a Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of Birmingham. She is also a keen netball player and plays in the Stamford League.

Rebecca Spencer

Chartered Physiotherapist

Member of the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC), the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) and the Australian Pilates for Physiotherapists Institute (APPI)

Beck graduated from the University of Birmingham with a first class honours degree in Physiotherapy. She specialises in MSK and soft tissue techniques, with added specialisms in Pilates and tool assisted myofascial release therapy.

Beck has worked across a broad range of private healthcare institutions during her career, as well as lecturing part-time at the University of Birmingham and Loughborough University, as part of the sports massage and injuries management programme.

She has an infectious passion for people and focuses her treatments on managing the whole person, rather than just their symptoms. Beck believes it is essential to get to the root cause of an issue and aims to work to with her patients to become proactive about their health management.

In her spare time, Beck enjoys salsa dancing, petting dogs (yes, all of them!) and up-cycling furniture.

Helen Manning

Qualified Yoga Teacher


Helen is a qualified Yoga and Pilates teacher.

Helen’s personal frustration of managing a recurring back injury led Helen to try Pilates and Yoga. She was so impressed by the impact the exercises had on her return to health that she began pursuing the journey to train as a teacher.

Helen teaches Ultimate Performance Lifestyle's Hatha Yoga classes. With an exuberant passion for Yoga, Helen recognises the differing strengths of her class participants so her sessions offer a range of options/adaptations for each pose. Her classes focus on teaching effective breathing techniques for overall health and stress management, poses to maintain healthy joints and muscles, and promoting mental calmness and a positive outlook. Encouraging the sense of relaxation needed to help the body recover from the inside.

Helen is also a Bowen Technique Practitioner and a qualified specialist teacher of Yoga for people living with Cancer.

In her spare time, Helen enjoys spending time in her garden – nurturing her vegetable patch, cycling, walking and working out in the gym.....she might be a Yoga teacher but she’s still a work in progress when it comes to relaxing!

Hannah Chapman

Qualified Sports Therapist

Member of the Society of Sports Therapists (SST) 

Hannah Chapman is a qualified Sports Therapist, after graduating from the University of Kent with a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Sports Therapy. 

Hannah can offer deep tissue massage, along with muscle energy techniques, soft tissue release, myofascial release and more! In order to help relieve aches, pains and promote recovery following injuries. She is also experienced in using Kinesio Tape, as her final year dissertation was focused on its effects, it was also used thoroughly throughout her second and third year placements. These placements took place with Gillingham FC and Gravesend RFC, and so Hannah has gained experience through assessing and treating players suffering from a range of different injuries. 

Due to playing football from a young age, Hannah has always been interested in pursuing a career related to sport. After suffering injuries herself, and seeing team-mates side-lined, this is where the interest in sports injuries began. Which led to studying Sports Therapy at University. Since graduating, Hannah is eager to get started and to carry on developing, and expanding her knowledge! 

In her spare time Hannah enjoys travelling, playing football and spending time with family and friends.

Jacob White

Qualified Physiotherapist

Member of the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC), the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) 

Jacob was delighted to join Ultimate Performance in 2019. He was educated at The Kings School Peterborough, before moving to a more vocational course leading to his admission to Keele University where he achieved a BSc (Honours) degree in Physiotherapy. Jacob was immediately offered full time employment with his last placement, and then spent the next 5 years within the NHS. Jacob was initially placed on rotation and therefore gained vast experience of a wide range of assessment, treatment and support; including, elderly care, treatment of amputees, respiratory, orthopaedic medicine and general medicine. He worked his way up to Senior Physiotherapist for MSK - treating orthopaedics and general musculoskeletal conditions, including paediatric MSK.  During the recent COVID-19 lockdown, he was recruited back to respiratory medicine to work on the front line in intensive care.

 

In addition to his work with the Ultimate performance team, Jacob has also been recruited by the Ministry of Defence to treat soldiers during their training, and ensure their continued high level of physical fitness. He will also be responsible for assessment; treatment and support of office based staff with repetitive strain injuries and those suffering with occupational neck, spine and lower back pains.

 

Jacob is always searching for the latest and innovative ways to treat pain and injuries and has a particular interest in back and neck pain. He has successfully completed postgraduate courses to gain skills in assessments of walking and running, soft tissue and fascia release, manipulations and treating general musculoskeletal conditions.

 

​​​​In his spare time, Jacob regularly attends the gym and still enjoys playing tennis, squash, golf, and even the odd game of snooker. Jacob has always been enthusiastic about sports. He played rugby for his school and college, and then to a high standard for both Peterborough and Cambridge. He rowed for the city and also represented his university at lacrosse.

 

All this inevitably has lead to Jacob’s sustaining injuries himself and this in turn has resulted in his having experienced treatment and support. He can totally empathise and understand the clients’ journey from injury to recovery. He is well known for his “bon ami” and sense of humour and prides himself on developing a positive and beneficial relationship with his clients.
